Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Global Health Gateway...
The Global Health Gateway depends on the hard work of dozens of volunteers to stay up-to-date and useful. Volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and many different places geographically, bringing with them a diverse range of skills and experience to contribute.
What our volunteers do
Here are some of the things our volunteers do, and some of the ways you may be able to contribute:
- contributing specific skill sets (e.g. PR, IT, Finance, Design...)
- promoting the Global Health Gateway network and resources
- scouting out local Global Health events, courses and jobs to share via the Global Health Gateway
- identifying local Global Health contacts and expertise
- liaising with the Working Party about potential directions for the Global Health Gateway
- engaging with local communities, and interested individuals/groups about Global Health issues

- Meet, and build relationships with, passionate individuals and exposure to some leading Global Health organisations. Being a volunteer is an exciting opportunity to become a vital part of the Global Health community.
- Contribute to the world of Global Health by helping to inspire and equip more people to be involved effectively in global health, here at home and abroad.
- Explore your own personal opportunities in Global Health. Being a volunteer gives you a chance to share your personal experiences, knowledge and vision- and to hear the same from others.
- Finally, the Global Health Gateway needs YOU! The Global Health Gateway is an exciting initiative linking people, passion and resources- and it depends on the talents, ideas and hard work of dozens of volunteers who use the Gateway.
How to become a Global Health Gateway vounteer
The position is voluntary, and can be tailored to your interests and skills. The Volunteer coordinators will support you in this role, finding the best way for you to contribute to making the Global Health Gateway better.
