Here is a novel approach to improving Indigenous employment and business opportunities.  Basically the idea from Mission Australia is to host a dinner with business leaders and Indigenous leaders - then do a speed-dating style thing to get everyone talking.

Also reported was the unbelievable high unemployment rates for Indigenous Australians - approx 4 times that of non-Indigenous, with 1 of every 4 Indigenous Australians under the age of 25 currently unemployed.  Ouch!

I think that this novel approach could work really well if individuals were willing to follow thru on the enthusiasm and grand ideas that would come out of such an event.  Sometimes something like this is really necessary to get the ball rolling and get people involved and engaged.  This would also enable more efficient use of resources as it is so important to be aware of the resources available for employment and/or entrepreneurial endeavours to ensure things have the best shot possible.
